There's still no denying that Microsoft is onto a winner with Xbox Game Pass, and May 2022 brings another bevvy of exciting free titles onto the much-loved subscription service.
Accessing an ever-growing library of free games for a small monthly fee has long been what everyone loves about Xbox Game Pass. It's a great way to discover new titles that you'd otherwise miss altogether.
And it'll be interesting to see if the revamped PlayStation Plus can earn similar amounts of love when it launches next month.
In the here and now, May 2022 is a great month to be an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, with a nice big pile of new games dropping on the service during this period.

The new free Xbox Game Pass games for May 2022 are:
- NBA 2K22 (cloud, console) - available now
- Loot River (cloud, console, PC) - available now
- Trek to Yomi (cloud, console, PC) - available now
- Citizen Sleeper (cloud, console, PC) - available now
- Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition (cloud, console, PC) - available now
- Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising (cloud, console, PC) - available now
- This War of Mine: Final Cut (cloud, console, PC) - available now
- NHL 22 (console via EA Play) - available 12th May
- Sniper Elite 5 - coming to console on 26th May

Xbox Games with Gold for May 2022
Xbox Live Gold members and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will also get the following games in May 2022 as part of the 'Games with Gold' perk:
- Yoku’s Island Express - available from 1st May to 31st May
- The Inner World – The Last Wind Monk - available from 16th May to 15th June
- Hydro Thunder Hurricane - available from 1st May to 15th May
- Viva Piñata Party Animals - available 16th May to 31st May

Which games are leaving Xbox Game Pass?
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition left Xbox Game Pass (cloud and console) on 10th May.
The following games are leaving Xbox Game Pass on 15th May, so play them while you can!

- Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (console, PC)
- Remnant: From the Ashes (cloud, console, PC)
- Steep (cloud, console)
- The Catch: Carp and Coarse (cloud, console, PC)
